You can reserve a book when all the available copies on loan.

If all copies of an item that we hold at one of our Library locations are currently on loan by other users, the option to reserve will appear on the Catalogue entry of that item.(Please note: the reserve button will only appear if you are logged in with your Library Account using your Library PIN number.) Please ensure that you select the correct site where you wish to collect it. If that site does not appear then the reservation will not apply (usually because there is already at least one copy available on the shelf there).

When the option to reserve an item appears, the next copy available will be found for you and reserved by a member of our Customer Experience team, even if the item is located at another site.

When your reserved item is available a notification email will be sent to your UWL student email account. (The item will not be available before this so please wait until you have received your email.)

The reserved item will then be left at the Reservations Collection Point, located near the Help Zone of the site you originally requested it for.

Once you have found your reserved item you will be able to borrow it immediately using our self-service machines.

Please note: You can only reserve or request an item if there are no copies currently available on the shelf at the site where you wish to collect it.
